Privacy & Security

Please be assured that we only collect information essential to process your transaction and that contact details supplied to ourselves are used for our own purposes only. We never sell or divulge the information you entrust to us to any third parties.

Our Registration Number under the Data Protection Act 1998 is PZ812626X

The online process of ordering takes three stages.

1. Browsing
At this stage we do not require to collect any information from you, and so to assist the performance of the site, your browsing will be done outside of the secure server area. If you would prefer the security of the secure server area, simply register (if you haven't already done so, and) login.

2. Adding to the cart
You are free to add and remove items from your cart without registering or logging in. However for the system to properly calculate the final invoice amount you will be required to provide some information about yourself. These are basic details which we require in order to fulfill your order, such name & address etc.
The subsequent stages in the checkout process are secured through our own SSL server. You can verify this by clicking this Thawte image.

Mac users with older Microsoft browsers may not be able to see this image. This is because of the nature of the code supplied by Thawte. If you upgrade to a newer browser such as Omniweb, Safari, or Firefox it will work.

3. Secure Payment
In this final stage of the transaction, your payment details are handled by the Protx payment gateway. This means that your most sensitive information is being handled by experts in this field, and as a result we do not collect or store any payment card details in any form on this website.
Protx has been audited and approved by all of the major UK acquiring banks and these require Protx to adhere to all APACS standards. APACS is the UK payments association, a trade association for institutions delivering payments services to end customers. It is also the main industry voice on issues such as plastic cards, card fraud, cheques, electronic payments and cash. APACS

Protx have also been audited and accredited under the Visa Account Information Security (AIS) audit that specifically examines security of credit card details processed and stored by Protx.
Protx is fully approved as a Level 1 compliant provider under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). This is the highest level of compliance.

More information on Protx security

We have in addition to all the above, implemented 3D Secure card checking, Verified by Visa & Mastercard Secure. The first time you come acoss these, during the checkout process either here or on other secure sites, you'll be asked to sign up to secure your card.
Please note that you don't have to register for inclusion in this scheme and can simply click the appropriate button to bypass the screen, but it is another level of protection for you and your card, and we can highly recommend that you do sign up for it if your card issuer provides support. All the instructions will be there during the checkout process, and it only takes a minute or so to do.
The images on the right hand side of the site will take you to the relevant Visa & Mastercard websites for more information if you require it.

Payment
Goods remain the property of Bibacity until paid for in full by one of the methods specified at the checkout.

Where the option of Bank Transfer is chosen, bank details will be supplied.

Upon receipt of your order you will receive an email verifying your order details, and allowing you the opportunity of cancelling the order. However we need a valid email address for you to enable us to do this, so please ensure that you type your email address correctly.
Your credit card details will be verified on receipt, via Protx. All attempts at fraudulent transactions are logged and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

Is purchasing alcohol over the internet legal?
Yes, provided that the company you purchase from is fully licensed, as we are, to sell alcohol. If they are not licensed then not only are they trading illegally but you may also be committing an illegal act by purchasing from them. Always check before placing your order.

You must also be over 18 and/or at least the minimum legal age for alcohol purchase in your country.
Delivery
Delivery costs will be calculated according to the shipping zone. This is automatic according to weight, and will be shown in the order page.
For an indication of shipping charges Please see the Shipping & VAT help page.

We make every effort to ensure that your goods arrive in the condition you expect. All bottles are packed in specialist packaging for maximum protection and checked thoroughly for potential weakness.

Shipping Companies
International orders are fulfilled by either Royal Mail, or Parcel Force International Datapost, depending on quantities and delivery country.
Delivery times are dependent on the country of delivery, for more details please visit the Parcel Force website.

UK deliveries are by Royal Mail , TNT, or Parcel Force depending on volume and county. Please allow 3-4 working days from time of ordering. Faster delivery is available on request.

All international prices are based on weight, and are calculated according to shipping zone.
Shipping methods are available in the shopping cart after you've logged in and told the system where you want the goods delivered.

Additional Charges
All prices shown on the website are UK Duty paid. (In bond/duty free prices for full cases of certain products can be made available on request)
All countries have their own tax systems, and so customs duty may be payable on entry to your country, we do not collect or control these charges and cannot predict what they might be.
If you are unsure of your local regulations please ask as we can in most instances provide advice.

Special notes for North America:

Canada:
Please note that we do not currently ship to Canada, although it is possible to do so. This is because import taxes which are imposed on customers are exorbitant, and often take people by surprise.

USA:
Since we started trading in 1998, we have never had any problems shipping alcohol to the USA. However there is a possibility that Customs may impose additional duties, or at worst impound the goods. We cannot accept any responsibility for this, any products ordered must be at your own risk. Placing an order for delivery to the USA constitutes acceptance of this risk.

Refund & Returns Policy
Returns can be accepted and refunds given only if the wrong product has been supplied, is damaged, or is faulty. In any of these events please inform us immediately (within 7 days of receipt) by email, phone or fax, and we will arrange for everything to be put right at our cost. Outside of this 7 day period we cannot accept any liability, nor offer any refunds.
NB Images shown on the site are indicative only, and may show alternate ages, or packaging, and may change without warning.

Where returns are found to be in accordance with the above and a refund is given, rather than replacement goods, the refund will be made within 14 days.

In the event that the goods returned to us are found to be as described, not wrong, or faulty, or damaged, the goods will be returned to you, and all additional carriage charges plus a handling fee of 10% of the original order value will be charged to your account.

We have no liability to provide refunds for products returned to us as a result of customer attempts to evade local importation taxes, regulations, or where a customer orders the wrong product, or where the delivery address has been incorrectly supplied. This includes where a delivery has been attempted, and the goods are subsequently returned unclaimed from the delivery agents depot.
However, we will do so provided the goods are returned in a saleable condition, after deduction of a £5/bottle handling charge and any returning carriage charges we incur. No carriage will be refunded.

In the event of a product being unavailable at the time of ordering we will contact you on receipt of your order to give you the opportunity to confirm, amend or cancel your order.
